MAA Found Math: "Perpetual Motion", a sculpture by Eva Hild of Sweden, constructed in late January 2011, at the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships by the team of Hild, Dan Schwalbe, Stan Wagon, and Rich and Beth Seeley. Take a short walk around the 12-foot high sculpture, which is dominated by negative curvature, with this video. Learn more about how to transform a 20-ton block of hard-packed snow into a curvaceous and thin form, in limited time and using hand tools only, here (Photo by Richard Seeley, courtesy of Stan Wagon, Macalester College).
