| In order to strengthen
the mathematical education of America's teachers: PMET will provide college faculty assistance with appropriate instructional strategies for helping future K-12 teachers make connections of their college mathematics to K-12 mathematics. PMET will provide college faculty with better information about the mathematical issues that arise in day-to-day K-12 classroom lessons. PMET will assist efforts of mathematicians in providing professional development programs for practicing teachers.
