Hello,

We are typically asked to sign an indemnity agreement with the sites where we hold our section meetings. For example, the current agreement asks us to "indemnify the School for losses, damages, expenses, claims, judgments, or fees relating to such claims or judgments, or for losses or personal injury which are the result or the use of such facilities." Does MAA have a blanket policy which covers its activities, both national and sectional, in these matters? If not, do other sections have such insurance?

The MAA can provide insurance for section meetings. The MAA insurance company of Abercrombie, Burns, McKiernan & Company provides a certificate of liability upon request. Our agent, Linda Hazzard will need the following information: location of the meeting, contact on campus, name and address of school and date of meeting. Please contact Sharon Tryon (stryon@maa.org) in the Department of Finance for further details.
