Tim Chartier, Ph.D. collaborates with Erich Kreutzer, class of 2010, on research in numerical linear algebra at Davidson College. Tim is a member of the 2002 Project NExT cohort.
The Greater MAA Fund provides annual unrestricted support for organizational priorities. In the year ahead, your contributions will help the MAA run signature programs such as:
AMC nurtures budding mathematicians in middle through high school.
Project NExT mentors early career Ph.D.'s; and a host of professional development activities for educators ranging from the PREP program to the lectures, workshops, and the mini and short courses offered at the annual meetings.
MAA encourages students’ interest in a mathematical or STEM career with programs and services that include discounted membership and registration at national meetings, research opportunities, contests and networking.
Throughout the year MAA hosts special programs related to all aspects of mathematics in addition to the MAA Distinguished Lecture Series. The generosity of Paul and Virginia Halmos enabled MAA to renovate the historic Carriage House as a state-of-the art program and conference facility.
In addition, the MAA will continue an active public policy agenda concerning federal support for policies affecting mathematics education and research, curriculum review, public lectures, and support for online services such as WeBWorK and the MathDL Digital Library.
