The MAA River of Bricks

Become a lasting part of MAA history by having an inscribed brick installed in the Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk!

The Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk is named in honor of Paul Halmos. The generosity of Paul and Virginia Halmos enabled the restoration of the MAA Carriage House and its transformation into a conference center.

The shape of the commemorative walk represents the confluence of the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers that delineate the District of Columbia. The position of the icosahedron identifies the location of the MAA headquarters in the District.

An inscribed brick in the Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk at the MAA Carriage House Conference Center is a lasting tribute to role models, colleagues, friends and family. The cost per brick—$303—commemorates Paul Halmos’s birthday, March 3.

Purchases of these commemorative bricks are tax-deductible and support the activities of the MAA Carriage House Conference Center.
