Director of Development

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) seeks a Director of Development to be part of our leadership team. The MAA's mission is "to advance mathematics, especially at the collegiate level." The central role that mathematics plays in our technology-driven society, coupled with ongoing efforts to sustain MAA's vital role in the mathematical sciences as we approach our centennial in 2015, makes this an exciting time to become part of our team.

The Director of Development works with the Executive Director and key elected leaders to ensure that development efforts are aligned with organizational priorities. The new Director will oversee existing campaigns and targeted efforts to ensure continued funding for ongoing programs.

In addition to planning and implementing development campaigns, the Director of Development will track and report progress of all efforts, including details sufficient to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the various solicitations used throughout each campaign and each year. One full-time development assistant reports to the Director.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, including significant experience in corporate and foundation relations. A background in academic or professional society settings and supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
