The Mathematical Association of America's Educom Medal
The EDUCOM Medal was established in 1994 to assist in improving "the
quality of
the undergraduate learning experience and to promote the effective use
of information
technology in higher education." EDUCOM works with professional
societies - this year
with the Mathematical Association of America - in identifying people
who have "addressed a
significant pedagogical problem fundamental to the discipline;
provided an innovative
solution offering clear advantages over other techniques; and
demonstrated substantial impact
on improved student learning."
