Dates of Program: July 5 - August 12, 2005
Summary: Graph pebbling will
be the topic for the 2005 MAA-SUMMA REU at California Lutheran
University. Students will conduct research on a problem they
determine or chosen from among the following:
- Investigate
the relationship between the girth of a graph and the graph’s pebbling
number.
- Explore whether the Kneser graphs of diameter at least three are of Class 0,
i.e. whether their pebbling numbers are equal to the sizes of their
vertex sets.
- Determine optimal pebbling
numbers for families of graphs.
