This application allows users to graphically line up vectors and their images to "find" eigenvectors and eigenvalues.

The user selects the coefficients of a 2 by 2 matrix and drags a red arrow about \(\mathbf{R}^2\). The application shows the image of the red arrow under the matrix as a blue arrow. The user can then discover the eigenvectors of the matrix by aligning of the two arrows; the corresponding eigenvalue is the ratio of their lengths.
