MAA Found Math 2012 - Week 22

 

MAA Found Math: The facade of Van Vleck Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, home of the Department of Mathematics and the Math Library. Van Vleck Hall was named in honor of Wisconsin mathematics professor Edward Burr Van Vleck (1863-1943), a former president of the American Mathematical Society whose research focused on the fields of function theory and differential equations.
