Thomas F. Banchoff is a geometer, a professor at Brown University since 1967. In January 1996 he recerived the Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics at the joint meetings of the MAA and the AMS. In October 1997 he was named Rhode Island Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
