Each year the MAA conducts the GREATER MAA FUND campaign, which supports projects and programs that put the MAA on the cutting edge of service to the mathematical community. Projects or programs supported vary from year to year based upon current needs.

Tax-deductible gifts may be made to the MAA in several ways:
Cash
You may make a gift of cash by personal check, money order, cashier's check or other convenient means of exchange.
If you wish your gift to be credited for a particular year, the postmark on your envelope of transmittal should bear a date no later than December 31. Even if your check is dated December 31, 2001, if the postmark date is in 2002, you have made a gift for 2002 by Internal Revenue Service regulations.
If you wish to make a gift by VISA or MasterCard, please contact Tina H. Straley, Executive Director, 202-387-5200 or 1-800-741-9415.
Stocks
Stocks are an excellent way to make a gift, especially if they have appreciated, since you will avoid the capital gains tax. It is not advantageous to sell the stock and give the proceeds if you are looking for tax savings. Get your broker to complete the necessary transfer form, including date and number of shares, and have your broker send them to the MAA. You will be credited on the date of receipt of the stock transfer at the average of the high and low for the day.
Pledge
You may make an annual pledge to be paid any time prior to December 31. The MAA will be glad to send you reminders.
Dues Notice
You may make a gift by using the MAA Dues Notice which includes a line where you can indicate a gift for the Greater MAA Fund. Many members use the Dues Notice as a convenient way to make a gift.
Matching Gift
MAA members who work for corporations may be able to double their contribution through matching gifts. If your employer has a matching gifts program, you need to confirm that the corporate program supports gifts to non-profit organizations, and not only to colleges and universities. Then complete the matching gifts form of your organization and send a copy of it to the MAA Executive Director.
Memorial Gift
Many people each year make a gift in memory of, or in honor of, a family member, a loved one, colleague, mentor, or friend. This is a fine way to pay tribute to someone who has played a significant part in your life.
Recognition
The names of all contributors to the Greater MAA Fund are acknowledged in the Honor Roll of Donors published in the FOCUS newsletter each year (unless anonymity is requested).
