Carey College

The Gulf Park campus was largely destroyed. Some classes from this campus have been relocated and will begin Sept. 19. Call 601-318-6524 or 800-962-5991 x524.

The New Orleans campus is not heavily damaged, but no opening date is known.

Delgado Community College

Facilities suffered extensive damage. Additional information is available through the Louisiana Community and Technical College System website.

Dillard University

Current plans to reopen January 2006. Staff will continue to be paid in the interim.

Louisiana State University

LSU is maintaining a hurricane relief and recovery site.

Loyola U. New Orleans

Loyola University New Orleans is closed for the fall semester. Administrative offices are temporarily located in Alexandria, LA, and Houston, TX. As recovery progresses in New Orleans, a timetable for resuming normal operations on campus will be determined. Loyola to re-open in January for the spring semester.

Miss. Gulf Coast Community College

Classes resumed at all campuses on Sept. 14.

Our Lady of the Holy Cross College

Campus sustained limited damage and is curently operating as an Emergency Operations Center. Faculty, staff and students are not permitted on campus. Plans currently for resumption of classes in January.

Pearl River Community College

Classes resume Sept. 19.

Southern University at New Orleans

The New Orleans campus suffered extensive damage from flooding. Southern University at Baton Rouge is housing a SUNO Hotline (1-866-334-7638) and (1-866-334-8294). SUNO students, faculty and staff can make contact with the SUNO administration at these numbers.

Tulane University

The Tulane Campus sustained limited damage. Classes are expected to resume in January.

U. of New Orleans

Temporary office space has been established in the LSU System building in room 127. The telephone number is (225) 578-7816.

Faculty and staff are required to check in weekly.

University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park Campus

The University plans to resume Gulf Park, Keesler and Jackson County classes on Oct. 10 Southern Miss is working with local school districts as well as business and industry to secure academic classroom facilities for fall semester. Xavier University of Louisiana

The campus suffered wind damage to several building and extensive flooding damage to most buildings on the ground floor level. Plans for the future remain uncertain. Faculty and staff have been encouraged to seek temporary employment at other institutions.
