MAA seeks to support members of the
mathematical community
suffering from the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
We at the MAA want to let everyone suffering from the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina know that they are in our thoughts, and we hope that all our friends, colleagues, and students are safe and will be able to resume their lives soon. Let us know if there is anything that we can do to assist you.
We are seeking news from and about mathematicians and mathematics
students displaced or otherwise affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Send information to programs@maa.org
including name(s) and contact information of affected individuals who
are seeking housing and/or placement for the Fall 2005 term. This
information will be made available to MAA section officers and liaisons
as appropriate. We hope to be able to assist individuals and
institutions match up needs and resources.
The MAA is in the process of identifying those areas that do not have
mail service, and will hold all mailings to those areas. For those who
wish to temporarily redirect journals and other
membership materials, you may notify the MAA service center by sending
email to maaservice@pmds.com
or
calling 800-617-7800.
