The new NSF-funded initiative, Preparing
Mathematicians
to Educate Teachers (PMET), will be awarding minigrants each year to
faculty
for efforts to improve the curriculum and individual courses for future
K-12
teachers of mathematics. Awards will be
in the range of $2000 to $5000. Applications are due by October 15th. For further details, go to the PMET website www.maa.org/pmet and click on

Mathematics Faculty Member to honor beginning college or university
faculty
whose teaching has been extra ordinarily successful and whose
effectiveness in
