Primary funding provided by the Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation (DUE-0717662).

Registration Fee:

As a special offer, all registrations for this workshop will now be charged at the early registration rate of $350.

Description:
After introducing participants to the discrete wavelet transformation, we will illustrate the usefulness of this technique in real-world applications, such as image compression and de-noising. We will explore why this topic makes an exciting and valuable mathematical applications course early in the undergraduate curriculum. Participants will also receive innovative software and lecture materials that can be used to offer such a course at their home institution.
