What Is MAA MathFest?

The annual summer meeting of the Mathematical Association of America is the largest summertime gathering of mathematicians. MAA MathFest 2016 will officially open with the Grand Opening Reception on Wednesday, August 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the evening before the scientific program commences on Thursday morning. The reception will take place in the exhibit hall and all registered participants and guests are welcome to attend. MAA MathFest will conclude on Saturday evening with a Closing Banquet, to which all attendees are invited (advance registration and tickets required).

Why Should I Attend?

MAA MathFest draws mathematicians from all over the world who come together to celebrate mathematics. It features great exposition of mathematics as well as numerous sessions devoted to all aspects of collegiate mathematics, undergraduate teaching, and curriculum. The program promises to be stimulating and informative.

Where Will MAA MathFest Be This Year?

This year’s summer meeting will be held in Columbus, Ohio at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Columbus was named the 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year by Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). Columbus has diverse downtown neighborhoods, offering the best in food, drink, entertainment and charm. Whether it’s galleries and restaurants in the Short North, concerts and pro sports in the Arena District or the unrivaled historic charm of German Village, there are memorable after-hours experiences nearby.
