Meeting
the Challenges is a joint project of the Mathematical Association
of America, the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of
General Medical Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement
of Science, and the American Society for Microbiology. The kick-off
meeting was held February 27 - March 1, 2003 in the Hyatt Regency
Bethesda. The following people contributed to the success of the
