Quantitative Literacy Conference Announcement

Would you like to meet colleagues from across the country involved in promoting Quantitative Literacy (QL) or hear presentations on teaching QL, funding QL initiatives, and QL assessment? Would you like to contribute to a web site on "writing with numbers" assignments?

Then these three interrelated events addressing quantitative literacy are for you. Events will take place between May 15-17 at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH. Participants are invited to all of the three, or to individual events if they choose. Travel support is available for the workshop event to individuals lacking institutional or grant support.  The three events are:

• Annual Meeting of the National Numeracy Network, Thursday, May 15. The NNN is a broad-based organization, largely rooted in higher education, promoting quantitative literacy for all citizens.  Click here for more details.

• Workshop on Writing with Numbers, Thursday evening, May 15-Friday, May 16. This workshop is designed to generate materials for a web site providing examples of assignments that involve students in writing with numbers. Workshop features a keynote address by Mya Poe, MIT.  Click here for more details.

• Annual Meeting of the North East Consortium on Quantitative Literacy, Saturday, May 17. NECQL annually brings together faculty from the northeast states interested in teaching quantitative literacy. Open to all. Click here for more details.
