A More Stylish Spacesuit

MIT professor Dava Newman uses math and over 1,000 feet of semi-rigid ribbing (per garment) to create spacesuits that exert the necessary pressure without impeding movement.

They also look pretty chic. The new suits are designed to enable astronauts to perform the numerous space walks that would be part of a multi-year mission to Mars.
