From Russia with Math Screens at Film Festival

A documentary that tells the story of two Russian immigrant mothers who sought to remedy the sad state of American math education has been selected for inclusion in the NewFilmmakers 2014 WINTER FEST film festival.

The protagonists of From Russia with Math, Inessa Rifkin and Irina Khavinson, founded the Russian School of Mathematics as a way to provide students with the sort of quality mathematics education they had received in their home country. Says Rifkin: "We took what the Soviets did best and brought it to the free world."
