Engineering Faculty Rate Importance of Math Topics

Blogging for the Chronicle of Higher Education, Robert Talbert reports on results of a study in which engineering faculty rated the importance of various math topics.

The faculty members also rated the topics in terms of student mastery upon entrance into their courses, and, perhaps unsurprisingly, there was a bit of a mismatch between the skills engineering faculty perceive as important and those in which students have the best preparation.
