Finding Love via Data-Mined Dates

Wired tells the story of Chris McKinlay, who put work on his mathematics Ph.D. temporarily on hold while he used statistical sampling, data mining, and a modified Bell Labs algorithm called K-Modes to date like a mathematician.

Created by Harvard math majors, the online dating site OkCupid is ripe for this sort of sophisticated exploitation.
