Graphic Artists Offer Diverse Depictions of the Golden Mean

A new book called Golden Meaning collects the work produced when 55 of the world’s top graphic designers were asked to communicate the mathematics behind the golden ratio.

According to Alex Bellos's description of the book, the artists' offerings range from typefaces and wallpapers to golden ratio haircuts, baking recipes, and sculptures. Bellos says the book "deserves as much attention from the maths community as it does the arts one."

Read Bellos's column or browse a selection of the images included in the book.
