International Math Olympiad Results Bigger News Elsewhere Than in US

Team USA turned in another impressive performance at the International Mathematical Olympiad, as announced on the MAA website on July 17, 2012.  Yet the outstanding results—third place for the team and third place for Bobby Shen (among 548 students)—rated scant mention in U.S. news media.

In contrast, English-language news reports of the IMO results appeared in around the world.
