Math Circles Serve Up Mathematical Entrées

The Santa Cruz Sentinel covered the inaugural meeting of the Santa Cruz Math Circle.

Sponsored by X Academy and attracting nearly 50 students and as many adults, the gathering was led by Paul Zeitz, chair of the math department at the University of San Francisco.

"Math circles are like you have tribal elders that are initiating young people into the tribe and they're passing down folklore," says Zeitz.
