Possible Solution to Navier-Stokes Not Yet Translated

While Mukhtarbay Otelbayev of the Eurasian National University in Astana, Kazakhstan claims to have proven the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem—one of the Clay Mathematics Institute's seven Millennium Prize problems—the mathematical community is withholding judgment until the proof has been translated into English.

In order for Otelbayev to collect the million dollar prize, his proof must be published in a journal of "worldwide repute" and remain unchallenged for two years. As translation efforts get under way—Otelbayev wrote the paper in Russian and does not himself speak English—mathematicians are cautiously optimistic about the validity of Otelbayev's work.
