Statway and Quantway Provide Path to Higher Math

Two courses developed as part of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's Community College Pathways Program are demonstrating the effectiveness of engaging curricula and teaching methods in boosting student success in developmental math.

Each of the courses is a year long: Statway integrates high school algebra and college-level statistics, while Quantway focuses on developmental math for the first semester and college-level quantitative reasoning for the second.

Both Statway and Quantway give instructors the freedom to connect content to current events and questions of interest to their students and also include exercises aimed at combatting math anxiety.
