Symmetry Festival 2009 Kicks Off

"Symmetry in the History of Science, Art, Technology and Medicine" is the theme of Symmetry Festival 2009, which will take place July 31-August 5 in Budapest, Hungary. The festival, which is tied to the 23rd International Congress on the History of Science and Technology, has been organized under the aegis of the International Symmetry Association and is under the patronage of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

The scientific program, which will be held at the Technical University of Budapest, includes these keynote speakers:

Plenary speakers include Chaim Goodman-Strauss (U.S.); Dezső Horváth (Hungary); Alajos Kálmán (Hungary); Solomon Marcus (Romania); Gábor Náray-Szabó (Hungary); Gerald Pollack (U.S.); Yosef Scolnik (Israel); Tibor Toró (Romania); and Tudor Zamfirescu (Germany).
