Will Math Make You Rich?

A study from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland finds that "even among workers with the same level of education, those with more math have higher wages on average and are less likely to be unemployed."

While the Fed report suggests that students unable to afford college might boost their earnings potential by taking more mathematics classes in high school, it also acknowledges a point the Atlantic's Derek Thompson stresses in his commentary on the findings: It is well nigh impossible to determine whether there is a cause-and-effect relationship at work here.
