The awarding of prizes for expository writing has long been one of the high points of MathFest. Recently, two new prizes have been added: the Alder Award, a teaching award for new college professors, and the Selden Prize, for research on undergraduate mathematics education. The awards were announced on August 11, 2006. MAA president Carl Cowen presided over the ceremony. (Award recipients whose photos do not appear below were unable to be present.)
The full prize booklet, which includes citations and responses by the winners, can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
