New Bricks Added to the Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk

In early July, 75 inscribed bricks were added to the Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk that crosses the courtyard of MAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Designed as a map of the District of Columbia., the Commemorative Walks splits into two pathways, each representing the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers that border the city. A bronze icosahedron (MAA’s official logo) is placed at the geographically correct location of MAA Headquarters in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.

A generous donation by Paul and Virginia Halmos made possible the restoration and renovation of the Carriage House that was dedicated in April 2007.

Each brick is donated by MAA members and inscribed with a name or dedication. The cost of each brick is $303 and honors Paul R. Halmos's March 3 birthday while supporting MAA Carriage House events.

If you're visiting Washington, D.C., please stop by MAA headquarters, take a look at the Carriage House, and stroll the Paul R. Halmos Commemorative Walk.
