MAA FOUND MATH: The roadbed of this bridge in Hadley, N.Y. is supported by a lenticular (lens-shaped) truss, where each curve approximates a section of a parabola. Known as the Hadley Bow Bridge and constructed in 1885, it is often referred to locally as the Parabolic Bridge. Photo by Karen M. Bliss.
