For me the MAA is very energizing. It was important to me to be part of an organization that focused on mathematics. I was very pleasantly surprised how welcoming the MAA was for me as a mathematics educator. I'm able to share my expertise in mathematics education but also learn from mathematicians and other mathematics educators.
