Activities and Progess
- Review relevant reports and the CCTC standards – Done,reviewed CA standards and framework and CCTC standards
- Consult with our colleagues across the state who are developingsimilar programs – Did this at the CSU wide dept chair meeting, all havea similar program to the one we are developing, early field experience the main change
- Outline the coursework for the program – Done
- Develop course descriptions for new courses – It doesn't looklike we'll need new courses
- Rewrite course descriptions for existing courses – It doesn'tlook like we'll need new courses
- Develop mechanisms to stimulate constructive discussions of math instruction at the high school level – With current lack of support from the University, this no longer looks feasible.
- Establish content linkages with high school curriculum – Done. The current CCTC teacher prep standards are in line with the State standards.
- Choose textbooks – To be done January 2005 where appropriate
- Create syllabi – To be done Fall quarter 2004
- Develop course activities – In process
- Establish guidelines for assessment of content competence – Done via the department's assessment document
- Decide upon a standard of minimum scholarship for program completion – Done via the department's assessment document
- Develop a plan to provide advisement and support – To be done Fall quarter 2004
- Create a plan for periodic program review as required by the CCTC -- Done
- Maintain two-way communication with the entire math department concerning the project development -- Ongoing via email and one on one meetings also working with education and stats. We've attended several University wide meetings concerning Single Subject requirements. Also, department members have and will submit “evidence” such as syllabi, sample student work, hw assignments, etc.
- Create the program description and justification per the CCTCstandards – Partially complete
- Guide all newly designed courses and reworked courses throughthe University's approval process – Not necessary
- Shepherd the new Single Subject Program through the CCTC approval process – March 2005
