By implementing relatively straightforward algorithms upon which discovery learning exercises are based, participants will be exposed to both the capability and limitation of digital computing. Moreover, participants will experience the power of numerical experiments to motivate mathematical conjecture. The course will be widely applicable to those wishing to establish or enhance computational courses in liberal arts or STEM settings. Follow-up activities will focus on adapting content to the specific needs of participants and their institutions.
