Mathematical Treasure: De Moivre’s Annuities on Lives

Abraham de Moivre (1667-1754) was born in France but did most of his work as a mathematician in England. Extremely versatile in his contributions to mathematics, he first published his Annuities on Lives in 1725. Here are excerpts from the fourth edition of 1752.
