SMURCHOM IV

The fourth annual Smoky Mountain Undergraduate Conference on the History of Mathematics will be held on April 26, 2008 at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC.

There will be student talks on the history of mathematics as well as on mathematics informed by its history, a poster session, and a keynote address from Dr. Patti Hunter of Westmont College.  There will be a free lunch and registration is also free.  There is limited housing available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The webpage for the conference is http://paws.wcu.edu/despeaux/4smurchom.html.  This will link also to previous years' SMURCHOM webpages, where you can see talk abstracts and pictures from the earlier conferences.

SMURCHOM IV welcomes proposals for:

- 15-minute talks by undergraduates on research in the history of mathematics

-  15-minute talks by undergarduates on research in mathematics informed by its history

-  posters by undergraduates or graduate students in the history of mathematics or in mathematics informed by its history.
