2020 PIC Math Student Showcase

PIC Math prepares mathematical sciences students for industrial careers by engaging them in research problems that come directly from industry. A strong component of PIC Math involves students working as a group on a semester-long undergraduate research problem from business, industry, or government.

Usually, their results are presented during MAA MathFest in the summer following their PIC Math semester. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 5th annual PIC Math Student Showcase pivoted to an online format for this year. Students from nineteen institutions were excited to present their research in a two-day online event. The full program of the event, including project abstracts, can be found here.

In addition to their live presentations, ten student groups chose to produce an additional two-minute video presentation of their project to be shared publicly.
