The user selects the entries in a 2 by 2 matrix, which may be any number s between -3 and 3. The matrix is taken to be the standard matrix of a linear transformation. The user may then select a polygon to transform by manipulating a given triangle. It is possible to add vertices to make any polygon one desires to transform, or one can use a "wolf head" provided by the author to the same end.

Effective demonstration that can be customized by the user. (Note: Adding vertices to the polygon is achieved by Command-click on a Mac.)
