The Exponential of a Matrix

Well-written and concise discussion of the definition of the matrix exponential. It is unfortunate (IMO) that the only reference to eigenvalues is indirect, choosing Jordan form instead (which might make this unaccessible to some audiences). An example would have been helpful, particular one with a matrix that is not diagonalizable.
