This workshop will provide participants with a broad exposure to the inquiry based learning (IBL) style of instruction, where students are guided to develop content themselves instead of passively listening to lectures. The workshop will include discussions of videos of actual IBL classes, role-playing sessions conducted by participants, in-depth sessions with experienced IBL instructors about particular courses, and the use of technology in IBL. In addition to attending plenary sessions, participants will participate in two of four possible working groups. The individual working groups will focus on courses for pre-service elementary teachers, pre-service secondary teachers, linear algebra/differential equations and multivariable calculus.

Primary funding provided by NSF DUE- 0920786. Partial travel support available. Registration fee support available for graduate students.
