Summary:
The purpose of the proposed project is to investigate the proposed mathematical image smoothing model. The two major research questions in our proposed project are as follows:

How can we achieve a minimal solution of the proposed mathematical image smoothing model?

What are the methods to digitize a minimal solution during the numerical experiment steps?
The planned activities are as follows: a) study of calculus of variation and derivation of Euler-Lagrange equations of the presented model; b) numerical methods including steepest descent algorithm and finite difference methods; c) numerical experiments on images using Matlab software.
