A Problems Index classifies the 180 problems in the book into subject areas: algebra, complex numbers, discrete mathematics, number theory, statistics, and trigonometry.

Classification of Problems
Leo Schneider received his PhD from Case Western Reserve University. He was professor of mathematics and computer science at John Carroll University. Schneider was an active member of the Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America acting as President, Chair of the Program Committee, member of the Teaching Awards and Nominating Committees, as well as being responsible for the Ohio Section Summer Short Courses. He was an active member on the MAA Committee on the American Mathematics Competitions, serving as chair for six years, and on the subcommittee writing the exams for 12 years.
