Mathematical Treasure: Darboux on Orthogonality

Gaston Darboux (1842-1917) was a student of the geometer Michel Chasles and is recognized for his contributions to differential geometry. His Lessons on Orthogonality and Curvilinear Coordinates, originally written for his students at the University of Paris, was first published in 1898. The title page shown above is from the 1910 edition.
