Information for Authors

Author(s):

We are always looking for new and interesting contributions to JOMA. Please visit the About JOMA page for a description of the types of articles that we publish.

Submission

The preferred method of submission is for the author to post the article on an unrestricted web site, and then contact the editor by e-mail. The e-mail message should contain the following items:

  • the title of the article
  • the URL address of the article
  • a brief description of the article
  • the name, e-mail address, and affiliation of the author

Guidelines and Resources

Before preparing or submitting an article, please read the Guidelines for JOMA Authors.

The following articles provide more information for authors of web-based mathematical documents (not just JOMA authors). The second article gives a brief tutorial of the core web languages HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as document templates, sample style sheets, sample script files, and a table of mathematical symbols in both image format and HTML markup.

Copyright Information

Most JOMA authors retain copyright in their own work (our preference) and sign a Consent to Publish form. Some prefer to transfer copyright to MAA, for which we provide a Transfer of Copyright form. Here are the download links for the forms:

Completed forms may be returned to the Editor by mail or e-mail at the address given above. Copyright and fair use are very complicated issues for web documents. Please read the discussion of copyright in the Guidelines for JOMA Authors.
