Three Men, Many Folds

Shown on the cover of the February/March 2012 issue of MAA FOCUS is “Pleated Multi-sliced Cone,” an origami piece by Tom Hull, Robert Lang, and Ray Schamp that took second place at the Exhibition of Mathematical Art during The 2012 Joint Mathematics Meetings in Boston. Lang sent the crease pattern to Schamp, who printed it on elephant hide paper and sent it to Hull, who folded it.
