The Center for Women in Mathematics at Smith College is offering two new programs: The Junior Year Program, which is for undergraduate mathematics majors and has need-based financial aid available, and The Post-Baccalaureate Program, which is for women with bachelors degrees who didn't major in mathematics or whose major was light. Selected candidates for this program will be given full scholarships and a stipend.

Trinity College's Rome Program is offering an opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy for the Fall 2007 semester. Courses include a general, Math Distribution General Ed course, and a mathematics course - discrete geometry that can be taken either at the second year or junior-senior level.

The Math Forum Student Center has problems, Internet activities, discussion groups, and links to many other Web sites.

The ACM offers some good advice on how to find an internship.

The Budapest Semesters in Mathematics: Spend part of your junior or senior year in Budapest. Learn mathematics (in English) from leading Hungarian scholars.

MASS: the Mathematics Advanced Study Semesters allows undergraduates to spend a semester at Penn State, taking courses and participating in a research project.

The National Security Agency offers summer programs for college students.

Math for America appoints 40 Newton Fellows a year. Fellows are highly knowledgeable in mathematics, and once in the program, receive pedagogical training with full scholarship to a Master’s in education program and five years of stipends worth $90,000 in addition to their salaries as New York City public high school teachers.

The Knowles Science Teaching Foundation offers fellowships to support young men and women who have received a bachelor's or advanced degree in science, engineering or mathematics and are committed to teaching high school science and/or mathematics in United States schools. The Fellowship supports them professionally and financially for up to five years through a teacher preparation program to eligibility for tenure.

Teach For America is a national corps of recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity.
