MAA/PME Reception

On the eve of the conference, students gathered in a meeting room at the conference hotel to meet new friends and reunite with old.  MAA and PME provided beverages and snacks as students greeted each other and picked up copies of the programs of student activities.  The room was crowded and loud as students got their bearings and became excited about the events that would occupy the next few days:  student talks, Math Jeopardy, the MAA Lecture for Undergraduate Students, the MAA and PME undergraduate student poster sessions, the two undergraduate student activity sessions, and the ice cream social at the end of the day on Friday.  This traditional opening event was very well attended, and is an event to look forward to in Portland!
