When Will I Use Math? Website Up and Running
The Mathematics Department at Brigham Young University has launched an exciting new website which should be of interest to anyone who ever has to deal with the dreaded, “When will I use this?” question.
Found at www.whenwilliusemath.com the site is divided using tabs into five sections: Home, Careers, Did you know?, How to Succeed in Math, and Resources for Teachers.
Information goes from the useful (According to the Wall St. Journal the median annual income for a mathematician is $94,160) to the interesting (Hiroyuki Goto is the current world record holder for the most digits of Pi memorized. He spent nine hours and recited 42,000+ digits correctly in 1995).
The myriad of information on this site makes it one worth bookmarking.
